(Dir. Ian A. Robertson / Bring Gloves Prod.)

The music for the Canadian Indie film Unlucky was a fun challenge. Despite being set in present day, we wanted the music to evoke a nostalgia that would call to mind the Marvin Hamlisch or Burt Bacharach scores of the 1970's, while emphasizing the loveable but pathetic mains character, Darren. To do this, I used a more "traditionally untraditional" ensemble of instruments - toy pianos, broken dulcitones, and out of tune accordions. One of the best compliments I got on the score was that it sounded like something from The Muppets.
